Position Type: Full-Time, general school nurse position
Caseload: Elementary
Pay range: $40-$47/hr

Responsibilities:

• Providing direct healthcare services to students and staff members, including first aid, medication administration, and medical assessments.
• Managing students with chronic health conditions, allergies, and special healthcare needs by developing and implementing individualized health care plans.
• Conducting health screenings and immunization reviews to ensure compliance with state and school health requirements.
• Responding promptly to medical emergencies, providing immediate care, and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
• Monitoring and maintaining accurate health records, including student medical histories and incident reports.

Requirements:

• Valid and current RN license.
• Previous experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting is required.
• Knowledge of school health laws, regulations, and best practices.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills to respond effectively to medical situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Compassion, empathy, and the ability to work with sensitivity towards diverse student needs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in healthcare.
