About the Position:

As a Travel Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the surgical suite. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia professionals to prepare the operating room, anticipate needs during procedures, and maintain a sterile environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up the sterile field and surgical equipment based on the specific procedure
  • Anticipate the surgeon's needs and ensure instruments and supplies are readily available
  • Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgery
  • Assist the surgeon and surgical team during procedures
  • Ensure accurate instrument and sponge counts
  • Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the surgical team leader

Shift:

  • 3x12-Hour Days
  • Friday 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM
  • Saturday & Sunday: 07:00 AM - 11:30 PM

Requirements:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a valid license
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital operating room setting
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, current within the last 2 years
  • National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification (preferred)
  • Strong aseptic technique and sterile field maintenance skills
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong preference for Orthopaedic Trauma or Neuro surgery experience

Preferred Skills/Certifications/Experience:

  • Scrub experience
  • Experience with Orthopaedic Trauma or Neuro surgery procedures
  • Familiarity with various surgical equipment and instrumentation
