Job Description: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Boston

Shift: 36 or 40 hours per week, Day/Evening Rotation

  • 2-3 evenings per month
  • Every 3rd weekend as needed
  • No major holidays
  • No on-call duty

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of inpatient surgery experience
  • Level 1 trauma experience preferred

Required Certifications:

  • Must be surgical tech certified (National)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and organize the operating room before surgical procedures.
  • Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
  • Assist the surgical team during procedures by passing instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies.
  • Anticipate the needs of surgeons and other team members to maintain a smooth surgical workflow.
  • Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgical procedure.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and comfort.
  • Assist in the post-operative clean-up and transport patients to recovery areas.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of inpatient surgery experience.
  • National certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Level 1 trauma experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
