Dedicated Certified School Nurse and Student Health Empowerment Specialist (Glenview, IL)

We are seeking a compassionate and qualified Certified School Nurse (CSN) to join our team and provide comprehensive healthcare services to students within our school district. The School Nurse will be responsible for promoting student health, managing medical needs, and collaborating with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students with acute and chronic health conditions, including administering medications, treatments, and first aid as needed.
  • Conduct health assessments, screenings, and immunization reviews to ensure compliance with state and school district health requirements.
  • Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs) for students with specialized healthcare needs.
  • Monitor and manage communicable diseases within the school community, in accordance with state and local health department guidelines.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, counselors, and teachers to support students with mental health concerns, behavioral challenges, and other psychosocial issues impacting their health and well-being.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification in School Nursing (CSN) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
  • Experience working in pediatric or school nursing preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws related to school health services and student privacy rights (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA).
  • CPR certification and basic life support (BLS) training required.
  • Pass a criminal background check and provide proof of immunizations as required by state law.
