Position:

  • School Nurse (RN) 
  • Hourly Pay Range: starting at $40+


    Schedule: 

  • Academic School Year Calendar 
  • M-F Standard School Hours

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Health Management: Provide direct care to students, including assessing health needs, administering medications, and managing chronic conditions.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to medical emergencies within the school, providing first aid and coordinating with emergency services when necessary.
  • Health Education: Educate students, staff, and families on health-related issues, including nutrition, disease prevention, and hygiene practices.
  • Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs): Develop and implement IHPs for students with specific health needs, ensuring their safety and well-being in the school environment.
  • Compliance & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate health records for students, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.

    Requirements:

  • A current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state where the school district is located.
  • A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience working as an RN, preferably in a pediatric, school, or community health setting.
  • Additional endorsements or certifications in specific areas of special education (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disabilities) is a plus.
