ESY Program - School Registered Nurse (RN) - Part Time Hours

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the Extended School Year (ESY) program in De Soto, KS. This part-time position will run from June 5, 2023, to June 29, 2023, providing healthcare support to students with diverse needs. As an RN, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being and safety of students during the ESY program.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to students during the ESY program
• Administer medications, perform treatments, and provide first aid as necessary
• Monitor and assess students' health conditions and respond to medical emergencies
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement individual healthcare plans (IHCPs)
• Follow established protocols and guidelines for managing student health concerns
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records, including documentation of medications, treatments, and interventions
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and the educational team regarding students' health needs
• Ensure a safe and healthy environment for students through health promotion and disease prevention initiatives

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas
• Experience working as a School Nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting is preferred
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations related to healthcare in schools
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Dedication to providing high-quality healthcare support to students
