Sunbelt Staffing, a nationwide healthcare staffing agency, is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospice Home Health Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract position in Augusta, ME. The successful candidate will join our client, a leading nationwide home health agency, and provide quality patient care in a home-based setting.

Contract Details:

  • Location: Augusta, ME

  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks (with possible extension upon successful start and completion)
  • Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with occasional weekends and on-call duty (typically one weekend per month on-call)
  • Compensation: Negotiable, based on experience and territory budget
  • Mileage Reimbursement: from patient home to home
  • Blended Pay Packages: Available for travelers

Job Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Monitor and manage symptoms, providing palliative care to ensure patient comfort.
  • Administer medications as prescribed, including pain management and symptom control.
  • Educate patients and families on medication usage, side effects, and potential interactions.
  • Coordinate patient care with other healthcare providers, including physicians, social workers, and chaplains.
  • Facilitate communication between the patient, family, and the healthcare team to ensure cohesive care delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with hospice policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.


  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine,
  • Minimum of 1 year of hospice experience, preferably in the home setting
  • Proficiency in Homecare Homebase (HCHB).
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Reliable transportation with valid driver's license.
  • Ability to meet Joint Commission onboarding standards upon offer.
