Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time contract role within a school-based setting in McDonough, GA. This position is ideal for a healthcare professional with a background in special education, committed to delivering high-quality medical care and support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Medical Care: Provide routine and emergency medical care to students, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs to ensure overall student health and safety.
  • Develop and Manage Health Plans: Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans for students with medical needs, ensuring that these plans are followed effectively throughout the school day.
  • Document and Maintain Health Records: Accurately document students’ medical histories, treatment plans, and health incidents. Ensure that health records are complete, current, and comply with local and state regulations.
  • Support Special Education: Work closely with special education staff to address and manage the health-related components of students' individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring their medical needs are integrated into their educational experience.
  • Provide Health Education and Family Support: Educate students and staff on health-related topics and offer guidance and support to families regarding their child's health needs, including chronic condition management and wellness strategies.

    Qualifications:

  • Must have a valid LPN license and meet all local and state regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
