Position Type: Full-time (35 hours/week)
Caseload: High school students, sick visits/yearly evaluations
Pay Range: $31+/hour, paid weekly
As a school nurse, you will play a vital role in providing healthcare services and support to students. You will assist in maintaining a safe and healthy environment, administering medications, providing basic medical care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals and school staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive healthcare services to students, including but not limited to first aid, illness assessments, medication administration, and emergency care.
  • Monitor and manage student health plans, ensuring adherence to individual care plans and medical instructions.
  • Assess and address health concerns, injuries, and illnesses that occur during school hours, implementing appropriate interventions and documenting all actions taken.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to support students with chronic health conditions, ensuring their safety and enabling them to participate fully in the educational environment.
  • Educate students, staff, and parents on health promotion, disease prevention, and proper healthcare practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records, documenting student assessments, treatments, and other relevant health information.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and community resources to facilitate access to specialized care and services for students with complex medical needs.

    Requirements:

  • Valid state LVN/LPN or RN license.
  • Experience working as a nurse in a school, pediatric, or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric healthcare, including common childhood illnesses, injuries, and chronic health conditions.
  • Proficient computer skills for maintaining electronic health records and documentation.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications (current and in good standing).
