Full Time School Registered Nurse Contract - 2023/2024 School Year

Blazerworks, in partnership with a prominent school district in Oak Brook, IL, is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified School Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits and competitive wages. As the School RN, you will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students and providing essential medical care within the school environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and provide direct care for students with health concerns, injuries, or illnesses
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per physician's instructions
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations
• Monitor and manage students with chronic conditions, allergies, or special health needs
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide first aid when required
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to develop individualized healthcare plans
• Educate students, families, and staff on health-related topics and preventive measures
• Assist with health screenings, immunizations, and health promotion initiatives

Requirements:

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a nurse, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
• Strong knowledge of pediatric healthcare, common childhood illnesses, and emergency response protocols
• Excellent assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• CPR and First Aid certification
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and best practices in school nursing
