  • Deliver direct nursing care and health services to students in alignment with state regulations, district policies, and professional standards
  • Conduct health assessments, screenings, and evaluations to discern students' health requirements and devise suitable care plans
  • Administer medication, treatments, and procedures as directed by healthcare providers and maintain precise documentation of services rendered
  • Monitor students with chronic health conditions, disabilities, or special needs and collaborate with families, school staff, and healthcare providers to create and implement individualized health plans (IHPs) and emergency action plans (EAPs)
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies, injuries, and illnesses on campus, providing first aid, emergency care, and crisis intervention as necessary
  • Educate students, families, and staff on health promotion, disease prevention, and safety measures to foster a healthy school environment
  • Uphold accurate health records, immunization records, and health-related documentation, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Coordinate services, referrals, and resources for students' healthcare needs by collaborating with school personnel, community agencies, and healthcare providers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, individualized education plan (IEP) meetings, and other collaborative forums to contribute to students' educational planning and support services


  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
  • Current Illinois state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred
  • Proficiency in pediatric nursing principles, health assessment techniques, and best practices in school health services
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to promoting health, safety, and well-being in the school community
