We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse  to provide exceptional care for a high school student with tracheostomy needs. This full-time position includes direct care during school hours, as well as bus duties to ensure the student’s health and safety during transportation. The role involves collaborating with the district nurse supervisor or designee to deliver comprehensive health support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 nursing care to a high school student with a tracheostomy, ensuring their health and safety throughout the school day.
  • Perform tracheostomy care and manage the student’s individual health plan or plan of care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including handling emergency medical situations.
  • Conduct health evaluations and assessments to monitor the student’s well-being.
  • Ride the school bus with the student, assisting with their needs during transportation to and from school.
  • Develop and implement health care plans in coordination with the district nurse supervisor or designee.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and healthcare providers regarding the student’s health status and needs.

    Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • Training and experience in tracheostomy care.
  • Strong background in health evaluations, assessments, and developing health plans.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach to student care.
