What You’ll Do – Key Responsibilities

As a School Nurse, your role will be to ensure that students are healthy, safe, and able to succeed academically. You’ll be directly involved in health management, preventative care, and crisis response across the school community.

Primary Duties Include:

Provide first aid, health assessments, and care for students

Oversee the management of chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies

Maintain and track health records, ensuring compliance with California state regulations

Work with teachers and administrators to develop and implement Individual Health Plans (IHPs)

Promote wellness education and preventive health practices to students and staff

Respond to medical emergencies and assist in the school’s emergency preparedness plans

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications:

Active California RN license

Current CPR/First Aid certification

Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Experience:

BSN or higher nursing degree

Experience in pediatric nursing, school nursing, or public health

Knowledge of California school health policies and IEP/504 requirements

Bilingual skills (Spanish) are a plus
