Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Description:
A leading healthcare facility in Chicago, IL, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our surgical team. This role involves providing exceptional patient care during all perioperative phases, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency in the operating room.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct preoperative patient assessments and provide education about the surgical process.

Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.

Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring all instruments and supplies are readily available.

Monitor patient conditions throughout surgery and respond to any changes effectively.

Document all surgical procedures and patient information accurately and timely.

Coordinate with anesthesiologists, surgical technologists, and recovery room staff to ensure seamless transitions.

Participate in post-operative patient care and support recovery efforts as needed.

Act as a patient advocate and uphold the facility's commitment to compassionate care.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (or eligibility for licensure).

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

At least 1-2 years of experience as an OR RN in a hospital or surgical center setting.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques and familiarity with OR equipment.

Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and handle emergency situations effectively.
