Job Overview – School Nurse Responsibilities:

As a School Nurse (RN), you’ll play a critical role in maintaining student health, managing care plans, and promoting wellness across campus.

Key duties include:

Administering first aid and managing acute illnesses and injuries

Supporting students with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies)

Maintaining accurate health records and ensuring regulatory compliance

Developing and overseeing Individual Health Plans (IHPs), 504 Plans, and contributing to IEP teams

Educating students and staff on preventive care and wellness

Coordinating emergency response and preparedness efforts

Qualifications – What We’re Looking For:

Required:

Active Kansas RN license

Current CPR/First Aid certification

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Passion for working with children and adolescents

Preferred:

BSN or higher degree in nursing

Prior experience in pediatric, school, or community health nursing

Familiarity with IEP and 504 planning

Bilingual skills (Spanish preferred)
