Job Title: School Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)

Location: Whittier, CA

Schedule: Full-time

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for a school-based position in Whittier, CA. As a school LVN, you will play a vital role in providing direct nursing care and support to students within the school setting. Position Details:

• ASAP - 06/02 and 23/24 SY (potential ESY)
• Student with adrenal insufficiency
• Duties: Administer medication, injections in case of emergency

Responsibilities:

• Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• Monitor and assess student health status, including vital signs and changes in condition
• Assist with student health screenings and assessments
• Implement and follow individualized health care plans (IHCPs) for students with specific medical needs
• Provide first aid and emergency care as needed
• Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
• Educate students and staff on health-related topics and promote healthy lifestyle practices

Requirements:

• Valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations preferred
• Knowledge of common medical conditions and procedures in school settings
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Working Conditions: The School LVN will primarily work within the school setting, following the school calendar and schedule. The role may involve assisting students with physical disabilities or medical conditions, and may require some lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. The LVN will adhere to the school's policies and procedures and maintain confidentiality of student information.
