Are you a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) dedicated to supporting students with complex medical needs in a school setting?

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified LPN to join our team in the Southbury, CT area! This full-time, on-site position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique and rewarding opportunity to provide essential care to a student with a g-tube who requires one-on-one support, monitoring, and feeding assistance while riding the school bus.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide one-on-one care to a student with a g-tube throughout the school bus ride, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Follow established protocols for g-tube feeding, monitoring, and care, ensuring all procedures are completed accurately and safely.
  • Collaborate with the student's parents, school nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement a comprehensive care plan for the student on the bus.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all g-tube feeding and care provided on the bus.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment on the bus to prevent the spread of infection.
  • Respond to the student's needs promptly and appropriately, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in g-tube care and school nursing.

    Qualifications:

  • Valid Connecticut State License as a Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with children with g-tubes in a healthcare or school setting is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • A commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality care to ensure the student's well-being.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work within the school bus environment.
  • Proficiency in documentation and record keeping.
