Support Student Success: LVN (Part-Time, 1:1 Diabetic Care) - Soliant Education (Ladera, CA Area)

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) seeking a rewarding opportunity to provide essential care for a student with diabetes in a supportive school environment?

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified LVN to join our team in the Ladera, CA area! This part-time, on-site position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the life of a student with diabetes by providing personalized care and ensuring a safe and healthy school experience.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide one-on-one care for a student with diabetes throughout the school day, following a doctor-prescribed care plan.
  • Assist the student with blood sugar monitoring, medication administration (if applicable), and insulin injections (if applicable).
  • Monitor the student for signs and symptoms of diabetic complications and report any concerns to the school nurse and/or student's parents/guardians.
  • Educate and empower the student on self-management of their diabetes, including healthy eating habits, exercise routines, and medication adherence.
  • Collaborate with the school nurse, teachers, and parents/guardians to ensure the student's needs are met and a comprehensive support plan is in place.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of the student's health status and care provided throughout the school day.

    Qualifications:

  • California State License as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Prior experience working with children or adolescents, especially those with diabetes, is highly preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills in blood sugar monitoring, medication administration (if applicable), and insulin injections (if applicable).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with the student, parents/guardians, school nurse, and teachers.
  • A commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, and providing compassionate care.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced school environment.
  • Understanding of diabetes and its management is essential.
