Position Overview:

ProCare Therapy is seeking dedicated and qualified Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) for immediate openings and ongoing needs throughout the 2026–2027 school year in Durham, CA. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support deaf and hard-of-hearing students by facilitating communication and access to education in a collaborative school environment.

Work Schedule:
Full-Time
Approximately 30 hours per week
6 hours per day
Immediate start available
Ongoing need through the 2026–2027 school year
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly pay range: $75–$105/hour (based on EIPA score, experience, and qualifications)

Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students, peers, teachers, and school personnel
Provide sign-to-voice and voice-to-sign interpreting services
Support students in academic subjects and classroom activities
Assist with educational, vocational, and life-skills instruction as needed
Monitor and support students during classroom, outdoor, and community-based activities
Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote student success
Maintain professional standards and confidentiality in all interactions
Qualifications:
Certification by the National Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf (RID), or
EIPA score of 4.0 or higher, ESSE-I/R, or NAD/ACCI assessment certification
Candidates with an EIPA score below 4.0 may be considered and classified as an ASL Para
Previous school-based experience preferred
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Caseload:
Elementary and Intermediate School settings
Candidate preference will be considered during placement
