Job Title: Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) – 2026/2027 School Year

Position Overview:

ProCare Therapy is seeking two dedicated and qualified Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVIs) for the 2026–2027 school year in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area. These positions offer the opportunity to support students with visual impairments across multiple grade levels while collaborating with educators, families, and related service providers to ensure student success.

Virtual candidates may be considered; however, applicants must have a minimum of five years of experience providing virtual TVI services.

Assignment Details:
School Year: August 5, 2026 – May 19, 2027
Hours per Week: 35
Schedule: Full-Time
Part-Time Candidates: May be considered
School Sites: To be determined
Travel: Required between assigned schools; campuses will be geographically grouped to help minimize travel time

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative vision services to students with visual impairments
Conduct assessments and contribute to educational planning for eligible students
Support student access to curriculum through Braille instruction and assistive technology
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers
Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliant documentation using the TN Pulse platform
Monitor student progress and adjust services as needed
Support students in both general education and specialized classroom settings
Assist students in accessing educational materials and technology accommodations
Student Population:
Grade Levels: K–12+
Caseloads are typically divided among elementary, middle, and high school students
Students may be served in general education classrooms or specialized classrooms for students with multiple disabilities
Qualifications:
Active Tennessee Department of Education (DOE) certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
Experience with Braille instruction required
Experience using assistive technology for students with visual impairments required
Knowledge of the Federal Quota Program for assistive technology access is preferred
Previous school-based experience preferred
Candidates with virtual experience must have a minimum of five years providing virtual TVI services
Additional Information:
These positions have been vacant throughout the 2025–2026 school year
District students utilize Chromebooks
Fingerprinting is required as part of the credentialing process
Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills are preferred
