Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time contract position in a school-based setting in Racine, WI. This role is perfect for a skilled professional who is passionate about supporting students' health needs within an educational environment and has experience working with special education students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and Monitor Medical Care: Provide routine and emergency medical care to students, including administering prescribed medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs as needed.
  • Develop and Implement Health Plans: Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to create and manage individualized health plans for students with medical needs, ensuring they receive appropriate care throughout the school day.
  • Maintain Accurate Health Records: Document medical history, treatment outcomes, and any health-related incidents meticulously. Ensure that health records are up-to-date and comply with regulatory standards.
  • Support Special Education Needs: Work closely with special education staff to integrate health-related needs into students' individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring that their medical and developmental needs are met.
  • Provide Health Education and Family Support: Educate students and staff on health-related topics, including chronic condition management and health promotion. Offer guidance to families on managing their child's health needs and addressing any concerns.

    Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid LPN license and meet all local and state regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required.
