Blazer Jobs is actively seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time contract position in a school-based setting in Yelm, WA. This role is ideal for a dedicated healthcare professional with experience in special education, committed to providing exceptional care and support to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Medical Care: Deliver routine and emergency medical care to students, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs to ensure their health and safety.
  • Develop and Manage Health Plans: Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to create and implement individualized health plans for students with medical needs, ensuring these plans are effectively followed throughout the school day.
  • Maintain Accurate Health Records: Keep detailed and accurate records of students’ medical histories, treatment plans, and health incidents. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and complies with local and state regulations.
  • Support Special Education: Work with special education teams to address and manage the health-related components of students' individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring that medical needs are integrated into their educational experience.
  • Educate and Support Families: Provide health education to students and staff on various topics, and offer guidance and support to families regarding their child's health needs, including chronic condition management and health promotion.

    Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid LPN license and meet all local and state regulatory requirements.
  • Previous experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.
