Job Description:

Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Nurse (RN) to support a school district in Passaic, NJ. The School Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive health services to students, including assessing and addressing health concerns, administering medications, and developing health plans for students with chronic conditions. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the overall well-being of students, promoting a healthy school environment, and collaborating with staff, parents, and community health professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, and health care interventions.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with students’ health plans and physician instructions.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized health care plans (IHPs) for students with chronic conditions.
  • Conduct screenings (vision, hearing, scoliosis, etc.) and maintain accurate health records.
  • Monitor and report communicable diseases to local health authorities as required.
  • Provide health education to students, staff, and parents on topics like hygiene, disease prevention, and healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Respond to emergencies and administer basic first aid or emergency medical care.
  • Collaborate with school staff to promote a safe and healthy learning environment.
  • Ensure compliance with state health regulations and school policies.
  • Communicate with parents, teachers, and medical professionals regarding students’ health needs and accommodations.
  • Stay informed on current health trends and best practices in school nursing.

    Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher (preferred).
  • Experience in a school setting or with pediatric populations (preferred).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Understanding of state and federal health regulations, including those related to school nursing.
