Operating Room Nurse Travel Job

Sunbelt staffing is seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room nurse to join our team on a travel basis in Topeka, Kansas.

Qualifications:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certifications.
• CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Operating Room Nurse.
• Experience in a hospital setting is required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preoperative Preparation: Prepare the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning correctly. Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure.

2. Assessment and Monitoring: Assess patients' physical and psychological status before surgery and continuously monitor their vital signs and responses during the procedure.

3. Sterile Technique: Maintain a sterile field in the operating room, ensuring adherence to aseptic principles. Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies.

4. Medication Administration: Administer medications and anesthesia as directed by the anesthesiologist and surgeon. Monitor patients' reactions to medications and adjust care as necessary.
