Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Description:
A premier healthcare facility in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our surgical team. This role involves providing exceptional care throughout all phases of surgery, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct preoperative patient assessments and provide thorough education about the surgical process.

Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment in accordance with infection control standards.

Assist surgeons during procedures, ensuring the availability and proper handling of instruments and supplies.

Continuously monitor patients' conditions during surgery, responding to changes quickly and effectively.

Accurately document surgical procedures, patient responses, and outcomes.

Facilitate smooth transitions of care between the surgical team, anesthesia team, and post-operative staff.

Advocate for patient safety and adhere to the highest standards of nursing practice.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (or eligibility for licensure).

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

At least 1-2 years of experience as an OR RN in a hospital or surgical center setting.

Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Proficiency in aseptic and sterile techniques and familiarity with operating room equipment.

Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
