PCU RN - Plattsburgh, NY - Nights

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in Plattsburgh, NY, for a 13-week contract position. As a PCU RN, you will provide specialized care to acutely ill patients in our progressive care tele unit. This position involves working 12-hour night shifts, with a 48-hour workweek and every other weekend requirement. Experience in telemetry is essential, with a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in this area.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications
• Prior experience with Epic electronic medical records within the past year
• Previous travel experience as a Registered Nurse to substitute
• Strong knowledge of progressive care tele nursing principles and protocols

Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and provide care for acutely ill patients in the progressive care tele unit
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and perform treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, notifying the healthcare team promptly of any changes or abnormalities
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
• Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, and self-management techniques
• Document all patient care activities accurately and maintain detailed medical records
