Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)

Seeking Registered Nurse for a Psych Facility in Huntington, WV. RNs are needed immediately! If you have one year of Psych experience, you are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

• Current WV state nursing license in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Valid BLS Certification
• Familiarity with medical software and equipment
• Ability to build rapport with patients
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with Case Manager on collaborating physicians or specialists regarding patient care
• Care for men and women who have been committed to state custody for various offenses 
• Educate patients about health maintenance and disease prevention
• Maintain accurate patient logging
• Provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members
• Administer nursing care to ill, injured, or disabled patients
• Executes plan of care directives accurately
• Monitor and report changes in patient symptoms or behavior
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the treating physician

Education:

• Associates Degree of Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing
• West Virginia Registered Nurse License
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support

Employment Type: Full-time, 26 Week Contract

Works Hours:  Day, Evening, Nights
