Public Health MICAH Program Nurse Job in Chicago, IL

Location: Downtown Chicago, IL

Hours: 35 hours/week

Shift/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm

The Maternal, Infant, Child, and Adolescent Health (MICAH) Bureau is seeking dedicated Public Health Nurses to support the critical work of several key offices within the organization. These positions play a vital role in addressing the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and reaching underserved communities in Chicago.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing technical assistance and programmatic guidance to delegate agency staff.
• Monitor clinical procedures, manage clinic workflows, and ensure culturally competent care.
• Ensure compliance with Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommendations.
• Uphold patient safety standards and implement best practices for vaccinations.
• Facilitate patient education and connect individuals with medical homes and relevant resources.
• Maintain adherence to organizational standards of care and data management/security regulations.

Specific Skillsets/Experience:

• Background in maternal and/or infant health.
• Strong supervisory skills.
• Experience in program implementation and quality assurance/quality improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in building and maintaining professional relationships.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois.
• Bachelor s degree in Nursing accredited by the National League for Nursing OR an approved foreign credential evaluation supplemented by two years of public health nursing experience.
