Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)

Job Description:
A reputable healthcare facility in Utica, NY, is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional patient care during perioperative phases and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for surgery, including preoperative assessments and education.

Monitor patients' status throughout surgical procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.

Maintain a sterile and organized operating room environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.

Assist surgeons and surgical teams by passing instruments and managing equipment.

Ensure accurate documentation of procedures, patient conditions, and outcomes.

Coordinate with anesthesiologists, surgical technicians, and other staff to provide seamless care.

Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies during surgery.

Support post-operative recovery and ensure proper handoff to recovery room staff.

Qualifications:

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (or eligibility for licensure).

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Minimum of 1-2 years of recent OR nursing experience.

Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.

Strong understanding of aseptic and sterile techniques.

Excellent critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and adapt to changes quickly.
