Registered Nurse Needed in Oakhurst, CA
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School-Based Registered Nurse to join our educational institution. The School-Based Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing comprehensive health care services to students, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being during school hours. This position requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and school staff.
1. Health Assessments: Conduct health assessments and screenings to identify students' health needs and develop appropriate care plans.
2. Medical Care: Administer medication, treatments, and first aid to students as required, ensuring compliance with medical protocols, parental consent, and school policies.
3. Chronic Condition Management: Assist students with chronic health conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, or allergies, by monitoring their health status, providing education, and collaborating with healthcare providers.
4. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies or injuries that occur on school premises, providing immediate care and coordinating with emergency medical services when necessary.
5. Health Education: Develop and deliver health education programs and initiatives to promote healthy behaviors, disease prevention, and overall well-being among students.
6. Health Records: Maintain accurate and confidential health records for students, documenting assessments, treatments, medications, and other pertinent information.
7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care, share health-related information, and address students' individual needs effectively.
8. Immunization Compliance: Monitor and promote immunization compliance among students, ensuring adherence to state and local regulations.
9. Health Promotion: Participate in school-wide initiatives that promote a healthy environment, including wellness programs, health fairs, and health-related committees.
10. Professional Development: Stay updated with current healthcare practices, advancements, and legal requirements pertaining to school nursing through continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
1. Education: Possess a valid and current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
2. Experience: Previous experience in a clinical or school nursing setting is preferred.
3. Knowledge: Strong knowledge of pediatric and adolescent health care, including common health conditions, medications, and emergency response procedures.
4. Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and healthcare professionals.
5. Empathy and Compassion: Ability to provide compassionate care and support to students, considering their unique physical, emotional, and cultural needs.
6. Organization and Time Management: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities, prioritize tasks, and maintain accurate records.
7. Collaboration: Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
8. Professionalism: Display professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in all interactions and maintain compliance with ethical standards and legal regulations.
9. First Aid and CPR Certification: Possess current certifications in First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
10. Computer Skills: Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and basic office software.
