Our school district in Covina, CA is currently seeking a highly qualified and compassionate Certified School Nurse (RN) to join our team. As a Certified School Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the health and well-being of our students while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Position: Certified School Nurse (RN)
Location: Covina, CA

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments and screenings for students.
• Develop and manage Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHCPs) for students with chronic health conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and state regulations.
• Provide first aid and immediate care for students and staff as needed.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to address health-related concerns and create a safe and healthy school environment.
• Respond to medical emergencies and ensure appropriate protocols are followed.
• Promote health education and wellness initiatives within the school community.
• Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and local health regulations.
• Participate in staff training and professional development related to student health and safety.
• Serve as a resource for school staff on health-related matters.

Requirements:

• Current California RN license.
• Certification as a Certified School Nurse (CSN) in the state of California.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Previous experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassion and patience when dealing with students and their health needs.
• Thorough understanding of state and federal regulations related to school health services.
