Job Title: School Registered Nurse

Location: Bennettsville, SC

Schedule: Full-time

Contract: ProCare Therapy 22/23 school year

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time position in Bennettsville, SC. This position will be contracted through ProCare Therapy for the 22/23 school year. The RN will be responsible for providing nursing services to students in a school setting, promoting a safe and healthy learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing assessments and interventions to students with specific health needs, including administration of medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider.
  • Develop and implement Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs) for students with specific health needs, in collaboration with healthcare providers and families.
  • Monitor and document student health status and communicate changes or concerns to parents, healthcare providers, and school staff.
  • Provide health education to students, families, and school staff on specific health needs and related topics, including disease prevention, healthy lifestyles, and first aid.
  • Collaborate with school staff and community resources to develop and implement school-wide health promotion and disease prevention initiatives.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate health records for students, including immunization records, medication administration records, and health assessments.
  • Provide guidance and support to school staff on students' specific health needs and concerns.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness and response planning for the school, including crisis management and evacuation procedures.

Requirements:

  • Active and valid Rhode Island RN license
  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED
  • Experience in pediatric nursing, school nursing, or public health nursing preferred
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws related to school health services and nursing practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions: The School RN will work in a school setting, typically during school hours. The work may be physically demanding at times, and may require frequent standing, walking, and bending. Nurses may work in a variety of environments, including classrooms, health clinics, and other designated health care areas within the school. The position may require some evening or weekend work for school-related events and activities. The nurse must follow infection control and safety protocols to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. The nurse must also be able to provide services to the student in a private and confidential manner.
