Sunbelt is hiring a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time position in a 25-bed acute inpatient psychiatric unit in Elmira, NY. This unit treats adults with acute psychiatric needs including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, suicidal/homicidal ideation, and dual diagnoses.
Position Details:
Minimum 3 licensed staff per shift, with a total team of 4–5 (includes RNs, LPNs, MHAs)
Roles include Charge RN, Admission RN, and Medication Nurse
All nurses are trained in all core roles
Float roles perform rounds, vitals, group facilitation, and direct patient care
5:1 patient ratio or less
BLS required, restraint use is rare and only as a last resort
EMR: Epic
Requirements:
Active NY RN license
BLS certification
Behavioral health or psych nursing experience preferred
