Work Schedule: Full-time, 30-32.5 hours per week

Procare Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year in Freeport, NY. The chosen candidate will play a crucial role in providing general nursing duties to students, ensuring their health and safety within the school environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general nursing duties, including administering medication, providing first aid, and managing health concerns for students as needed.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to create and implement health plans for students with specific medical needs.
  • Maintain accurate and organized health records for students, including medical histories, treatments, and interventions.
  • Monitor and respond to students' health emergencies and provide immediate care as required.
  • Educate students, staff, and parents about health and wellness topics, fostering a healthy school community.
  • Follow all relevant medical protocols, procedures, and legal guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff.
  • Participate in staff training related to health and safety protocols as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Previous experience in pediatric nursing, school nursing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Ability to handle medical emergencies and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with proficient record-keeping skills.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to student care.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal healthcare regulations and protocols.
