Blazer Jobs is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a full-time contract position within a school-based setting in New Britain, CT. This role is perfect for a dedicated professional with a background in special education who is passionate about providing quality healthcare to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer Medications and Treatments: Provide routine and emergency medical care to students, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs as needed.
  • Develop and Implement Health Plans: Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized health plans for students with special medical needs.
  • Monitor and Record Health Data: Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for students, including documenting medical history, incidents, and responses to treatments.
  • Support Special Education Needs: Assist in managing health-related aspects of students’ individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring their medical needs are met in the school environment.
  • Provide Health Education and Support: Educate students and staff on health-related topics, including chronic condition management, health promotion, and safety practices. Offer support and guidance to families regarding their child's health needs.

    Qualifications:

  • Must meet all local and state licensing requirements for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Experience working with special education students and their families is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
