Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Oaklyn, New Jersey

Description: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our school healthcare team in Oaklyn, New Jersey. The LPN will play a crucial role in providing direct healthcare services to students, supporting their physical and emotional well-being throughout the school day. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer routine and emergency medical care to students in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
  • Monitor students with chronic health conditions, administer medications, and provide specialized care as needed.
  • Conduct health assessments, screenings, and immunization reviews to ensure compliance with state and district health regulations.
  • Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and parents to develop and implement individualized healthcare plans for students with special medical needs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records, including documentation of assessments, treatments, and communications with healthcare providers and parents.
  • Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics, including preventive care, hygiene practices, and medication management.

Educational Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program.

Certifications:

  • Current LPN license in the state of New Jersey.
  • CPR certification for healthcare providers.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric nursing principles.
  • Ability to assess, prioritize, and respond to medical emergencies in a school setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
