Job Description:

Soliant Education is seeking a qualified School Nurse (LPN) for a school-based position in Statham, GA. The School Nurse will play a crucial role in ensuring the health and safety of students by providing medical care, managing health plans, and supporting the well-being of the school community. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with students, staff, and parents to create a healthy learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care to students, including administering medications, treatments, and first aid.
  • Assist in the management of students with chronic conditions, such as asthma, diabetes, and allergies.
  • Conduct health assessments and screenings, including vision, hearing, and immunization compliance.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with school policies and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with school staff and parents to develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHPs) for students with medical needs.
  • Monitor and respond to health emergencies and provide appropriate care.
  • Educate students, staff, and families on health-related topics and promote healthy behaviors.
  • Support infection control measures and monitor for communicable diseases.
  • Ensure the proper storage and administration of medications.
  • Participate in school safety plans and emergency response teams as needed.
  • Provide health counseling and guidance to students on a variety of topics, including nutrition, hygiene, and mental health.
  • Act as a liaison between the school, parents, and local health agencies as required.

    Qualifications:

  • Active LPN license in the state of Georgia.
  • Previous experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric nursing setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal health regulations, including those related to student health care.
  • Strong clinical skills in administering medications, conducting assessments, and handling emergencies.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, school staff, and health professionals.
  • Compassion, patience, and dedication to student well-being.
  • CPR and First Aid certification required.
