Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Middletown, RI. In this role, you will provide direct healthcare services, health education, and emergency care to students, ensuring a safe and healthy learning environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and chronic condition management.
  • Monitor and manage student health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and severe allergies.
  • Maintain accurate student health records and ensure compliance with Rhode Island state health regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school staff regarding student health needs.
  • Conduct health screenings and assessments, including vision, hearing, and immunization compliance.
  • Educate students and staff on disease prevention, hygiene, and overall wellness.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with local healthcare providers when necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to school health policies, Individualized Health Plans (IHPs), IEPs, and 504 plans.

    Qualifications

  • Current Rhode Island RN license (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) (preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (required).
  • Experience in pediatric, school, or community health nursing (preferred).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a school health team.

  • Ability to pass a background check and meet Rhode Island state school health requirements.
  • Knowledge of state and federal health guidelines for schools.
  • Willingness to participate in training and professional development.
