Travel Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse Job

Sunbelt Staffing is looking for an Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Nurse for a travel job in Aurora, Colorado. Travel experience is preferred, but newcomers are welcome to apply. This is a 13 week travel contract but possible extension may be available towards the end of the assignment.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
• Current RN license and certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is preferred.
• Previous experience in pediatric nursing or PICU required.
• Experience in a hospital setting required.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care:

   • Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients, including those recovering from surgery, trauma, or complex medical conditions.
   • Monitor and assess patients' conditions, administer medications, and implement treatment plans.

2. Family Support:

   • Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing updates on the patient's condition and involving them in the care planning process.
   • Offer emotional support and education to families during challenging times.

3. Collaboration:

   • Work closely with pediatricians, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
   • Participate in daily rounds and interdisciplinary meetings to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.
