Step into a vital school-based role supporting a high school student as a dedicated 1:1 Registered Nurse. This contract opportunity is based near Binghamton, NY, with consistent hours throughout the academic year and continued support needed during the summer on a reduced schedule. Key Qualifications:

  • Current New York State Registered Nurse license or a compact license transferable to NY.
  • Willingness and ability to provide 1:1 nursing care for a non-verbal student using a wheelchair.
  • Skilled in operating a suction machine and open to learning additional device support, including a communication aid.
  • Previous experience providing 1:1 nursing support preferred, though not strictly required—empathy and adaptability are a must.
  • Comfortable working independently in a school environment and collaborating closely with educators and student support teams.
  • Flexible start date options: ideal candidates can begin July 6, 2026, but applicants available for the new school year starting September 8, 2026, are also welcomed.

    • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily 1:1 care within the school setting (grades 9–12), including assistance with mobility, communication devices, and medical equipment.
  • Attend to medical needs during school hours (35 hours/week; summer support at approximately 20 hours/week).
  • Foster a supportive, respectful environment that empowers student engagement and participation.
  • Coordinate with school personnel and parents to provide consistent, high-quality care.
