Step into a vital role providing specialized support to a young student in a nurturing educational environment. This full-time contract position is designed for a compassionate LPN/LVN passionate about pediatric care. Working one-on-one with a non-verbal kindergarten girl diagnosed with CDKL5 deficiency disorder, global developmental delay, and epilepsy, you will make a profound difference each school day.

The position runs from 7:45am to 2:15pm and launches on September 2, 2026, with an initial three-month trial period. This dedicated assignment involves close monitoring and immediate response to frequent myoclonic and tonic seizure activity, including the administration of a nasal spray seizure medication. As there is currently no bus riding involved, your focus is entirely on her school day experience and well-being.

Qualifications:

  • Valid and current LPN/LVN license
  • Experience with seizure disorders and administration of emergency medications (especially nasal sprays)
  • Strong background in pediatric or school nursing
  • Comfort working independently in a 1:1 student setting
  • Ability to interpret and respond to medical needs for non-verbal individuals
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Commitment to supporting students with significant developmental challenges
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct health monitoring and care for the assigned student throughout the school day
  • Administer seizure medication as needed and maintain detailed reports of occurrences
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, aides, and healthcare staff to optimize safety and learning
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and understanding environment, adapting care as student needs evolve
