Schedule/Hours:

  • Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Expectation to work select major holidays based on assignment duration
  • Maximum of 7 days requested time off permitted during assignment
  • Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers welcome
  • BLS certification required
  • Experience with adult through geriatric populations in a med/surg renal setting preferred
  • Unit & Skills Requirements:

  • Comfortable managing patients with renal conditions, HD catheter management, manual PD/PD cycler, CKD, HTN emergency, sepsis, UTI, and ETOH (CIWA)
  • Telemetry monitoring skills
  • Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients; daily census averages 18 in a 20-room unit
  • Floating to other units as needed, no on-call required
  • Scrub colors: Navy, white, or combinations
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based care to adults and geriatric patients with complex renal issues
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team for patient-centered care planning and implementation
  • Respond rapidly and effectively to changes in patient status, utilizing critical thinking and advanced nursing practices
  • Maintain accurate documentation using facility electronic medical record systems
  • Provide patient and family education tailored to specific diagnoses and treatment plans
