Deliver exceptional patient-centered care to mothers and newborns in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. This role focuses on supporting new families during critical moments and demands a proactive, compassionate Registered Nurse dedicated to excellence in maternal-child health.

Schedule:

  • 36 hours per week with 12-hour shifts
  • Night shifts: 7:00pm – 7:30am
  • Every other weekend required
  • 13-week assignment
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with recent experience in mother-baby or postpartum nursing
  • Background caring for high-risk mothers and infants
  • Previous employment at a high-risk facility strongly preferred
  • Current certifications: BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • Meticulous documentation habits and strong communication skills
  • Ability to ask thoughtful, open-ended questions to improve patient care
  • Self-motivated with a collaborative approach to healthcare delivery
  • Comfortable managing a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care using the processes of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for new mothers and infants
  • Coordinate with healthcare team members and communicate vital patient/family information to ensure safe transitions and cohesive care
  • Offer teaching and support to patients and families regarding newborn care and maternal recovery
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and contribute to solutions for variances from patient goals
  • Maintain accurate, thorough documentation and follow facility protocols at all times
  • Demonstrate leadership in the coordination of patient care and the supervision of support staff when necessary
