Make an impact in the lives of students as an on-site, 1:1 school nurse (RN or LPN) serving elementary and secondary-age students with complex medical needs in the greater St. Louis area. Multiple contract-based roles are available, aligned to individual schools and requiring a minimum commitment of one month, with the possibility of extension through the semester or school year as needed by the district and student. Each nurse will be exclusively assigned to work with a single student at one school building.

What you'll bring:

  • Active Missouri RN or LPN license, with current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Experience supporting children with seizure management, medication administration, G-tube usage, and emergency response.
  • Comfort providing full personal care (assistance with mobility, feeding, toileting, dressing).
  • Ability to support students with non-verbal communication needs and use of augmentative devices.
  • Familiarity with bus duty and willingness to support students during transit as needed.
  • Flexibility and reliability to work on-site, Monday through Friday, at least 37.5 hours per week.
  • Commitment to completing time-sensitive credentialing: drug screen, fingerprinting, and required school district training (including Will’s Law and seizure/epilepsy disorder training).
  • Willingness to review and acknowledge understanding of nurse expectations in the school setting.
  • Previous applicants to the district must share outcomes of prior applications.
  • Role responsibilities:

  • Provide direct 1:1 care to a student per assignment (ages 5, 7, or 13; specific campuses to be determined).
  • Monitor, manage, and respond to students’ individual health needs, including medication administration, seizure activity, G-tube care, and full assistance with all daily living activities.
  • Communicate effectively with school staff and families.
  • Document care and update health records as required.
