Step into a pivotal role supporting student health in an engaging high school environment. We are seeking a dedicated registered nurse for a contract position, focusing on one-on-one care. As a reliable presence at Fort Pierce Central High School, you'll work with a student returning to the classroom after several years at home, providing essential support that enables both learning and well-being.

Your compassion and clinical expertise will ensure this student’s successful transition. The schedule offers approximately 20 hours per week, working on-site, Monday through Friday for half-days throughout the school year—providing work-life balance and purposeful impact.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current, active RN license (Nursys verified)
  • Valid CPR/BLS certification
  • Previous experience in school nursing or with pediatric populations preferred
  • Commitment to timely completion of credentialing requirements, including fingerprint clearance (with possible eligibility to use DOH prints)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with school personnel, families, and healthcare partners
  • Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver 1:1 nursing support to a high school student who needs oxygen stat and blood pressure monitoring once daily (as per RN-only protocol)
  • Maintain meticulous health records and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders as needed
  • Monitor and respond to student’s health status and medical needs during the school day
  • Participate in care planning and student reintegration alongside the multidisciplinary team
