Experience the rewarding impact of providing dedicated, 1:1 care to a student as a contract LPN at a supportive, elementary school environment. This role centers around delivering essential nursing services to a 5th grade student, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning experience from the start of the school day to the ride home.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active GA LPN license
  • Background in school-based nursing or similar pediatric settings
  • Expertise managing g-tubes, G/J-tubes, supplemental oxygen, and medication administration
  • Comfortable with oral suctioning and monitoring/seizure response
  • Experience supporting students with asthma and complex healthcare needs
  • Capacity to start early mornings and work until mid-afternoon (approx. 6:30am–3:00pm, Monday through Friday)
  • Familiarity with following IEPs and medical orders within educational environments
  • Compassion, patience, and a collaborative approach when working with students, families, and staff
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive, compassionate care for one student, including g-tube feedings, oxygen support, medication administration, and seizure observation/intervention
  • Meet the student at home prior to school, accompany on the bus, and monitor health throughout the school day
  • Ride the bus with the student back home, ensuring well-being in alignment with physician and IEP guidelines
  • Maintain accurate documentation of daily care and respond promptly to any emergent health concerns
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams, school staff, and the student’s family to foster a safe learning space
