School Registered Nurse

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School Registered Nurse (RN) to join a school district in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position plays a vital role in supporting student health, safety, and academic success by providing direct nursing services, managing student healthcare needs, and collaborating with families and school staff.

The ideal candidate will be a licensed RN with a passion for working with children and helping create a safe, healthy learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care and health services to students.
Assess and manage student illnesses, injuries, and chronic health conditions.
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and district policies.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed.
Develop and maintain individualized healthcare plans for students.
Communicate and collaborate with parents, teachers, administrators, and healthcare providers.
Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and district regulations.
Promote student wellness, health education, and disease prevention initiatives.
Support students with special healthcare needs and medical accommodations.
Assist in creating a safe and healthy school environment.

Required Qualifications
Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) License
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university
Current CPR and AED Certification
Valid Wisconsin Driver's License
Ability to perform all job duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds
Must have worked as an RN within the last two years or completed a nursing refresher course within the last year

Preferred Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of pediatric nursing experience
Previous experience in a school, pediatric, community health, or public health setting
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Experience supporting students with specialized healthcare needs
