This travel assignment allows you to immerse yourself in a fast-paced Ortho Neuro Trauma Care environment at a respected teaching hospital. Encounter a wide variety of clinical situations, collaborate with experienced leaders, and mentor newer clinicians, all while enhancing your resume with trauma level II exposure. The experience gained here will set you apart and amplify your adaptability in any future nursing role.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-hour night shifts (6:30 pm – 7:00 am)
  • 36 guaranteed hours/week, with 48 available upon request
  • Three weekends per six-week schedule; every other holiday
  • Potential for float within skillset to nearby campuses (2-hour notice provided)
  • Qualifications:

  • Current, active compact RN license
  • AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications (attach upon application)
  • Minimum two years’ RN experience, with at least one year in ortho/neuro/trauma
  • At least one prior travel assignment
  • Recent trauma level II experience required
  • Strong neuro assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Recent EPIC charting experience
  • Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation and stepdown experience required
  • Preferred: Experience with chest tube/drain management, drips, epidural and wound care

  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for trauma, orthopedic, and neurological patients
  • Log roll, apply assistive devices, interpret EKGs, insert PIVs
  • Float within your skillset as needed
  • Support patient safety and unit efficiency
  • Mentor students and new hires as part of a teaching hospital team
