Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Prior experience as a school nurse is essential; please submit credentials and an up-to-date resume.
  • Must be able to work full-time, school set hours (8:45 AM – 3:45 PM).
  • Comfortable working with elementary student caseload.
  • LPNs are not eligible for this position.
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct professional nursing, first aid, and emergency care to students and staff within state and school district policy.
  • Administer and document medications, securing all medications in a locked cabinet.
  • Assist the Certified School Nurse with wellness programs, obtaining health action plans, district projects, and health office upkeep.
  • Regularly monitor and report maintenance needs for building AEDs.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with state mandates, including immunizations and physical exams.
  • Act as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse or neglect, ensuring timely assessment and referral.
