Position Overview

  • We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified School Nurse (CSN) to support the health and well-being of students throughout the 2026–2027 school year. The Certified School Nurse will provide direct health services, promote student wellness, manage medical needs, and collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare providers to ensure students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified School Nurse (CSN) to support the health and well-being of students throughout the 2026–2027 school year. The Certified School Nurse will provide direct health services, promote student wellness, manage medical needs, and collaborate with educators, families, and healthcare providers to ensure students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive school nursing services in accordance with state regulations and district policies.
  • Assess, monitor, and address student health concerns and medical needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and authorized.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs), Emergency Action Plans (EAPs), and health-related accommodations.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Maintain accurate health records and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Monitor immunization records, physical examinations, and health screenings.
  • Collaborate with parents, physicians, school staff, and community healthcare providers regarding student health needs.
  • Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Section 504 meetings as appropriate.
  • Educate students and staff on health, wellness, disease prevention, and safety practices.
  • Support infection control procedures and promote a healthy school environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student health information in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse endorsement or Illinois Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential, as required by the district.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge of pediatric nursing practices, school health regulations, and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Compensation for this position ranges from $33.00 to $51.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
